The Buffalo Police Dept. is a pace-setter in the area of alcoholism and alcoholism-prevention programs largely due to the efforts of Patrolman William H. Schrader, himself an alcoholic. "I finally went to a program for alcoholics, and it has been nine years since I have had a drink," he says.
