Loving Detachment

We can help a lot more if we accept the fact that we are powerless over another alcoholic

MANY ALCOHOLICS cringe when someone uses the word "detachment." To them, it means lack of interest, abandonment, even separation or divorce from a nonalcoholic spouse. It came as something of a surprise, therefore, when my AA wife told me that what I had learned about detachment in Al-Anon had been of inestimable help to her in her Twelfth Step work!
