Once Over Lightly
Sense and nonsense on the road to recovery
THE CONFLICT between wife and drinking husband is shown again in this story about a fellow who entered a bar on a very cold and stormy night and proceeded to order one martini after another. Before drinking each, he would pluck out the olive and put it in a small glass jar in his coat pocket. Finally, the container was full. As he weaved his way out the door, he muttered to himself, "There, that'll teach her not to send me out for a bottle of olives on a night like this!"
