Learning to Live in the World Around Us
SECURITY, as such, is simply a state of mind. For years during my alcoholic drinking, I searched constantly for security and serenity, hoping that they would arrive hand in hand. After I stopped drinking and came into the Fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous, I was still searching for these elusive goals. It took many, many months for me to reach the conclusion that serenity was a day-at-a-time thing, that it had to be sought after and worked for daily. But I just could not get a grip on that security thing.
