Sense and nonsense on the road to recovery

THE INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE might not vouch for the following anecdote, but it could have happened. It seemed that a certain young bachelor liked, not only his drinks, but the girls as well, and enjoyed his share of both. One year, he sent in his income tax return, but got it back some time later with a note reading, "You state that you are single and undivorced, but claim a son as a dependent. Perhaps this was a stenographic error."
