Thanks for "Apathetics Anonymous" in the February issue. R. K. echoes my growing feeling that too many in AA are complacent in their personal salvation and their pursuit of "being comfortable," to the neglect of carrying the message and growing. I object especially to the often-heard "It's a selfish program." "Selfish" is the antithesis of "spiritual," and using it irresponsibly to describe the program is misleading and destructive of spiritual growth.
