Alcohol-Drug Merger?

Editorial: "Maintaining an artificial distinction between alcohol and 'drug' programs is becoming harder to justify as more and more individuals show up with multidrug problems. . . . Too often, a heroin user is thrown out of some narcotic program for his secondary use of alcohol, and is prevented from joining an alcoholism program because of his primary narcotic use. Thus the patient who is most in need of help finds the fewest options available to him."
