Dedicated to the lighter side of our common problem - From the September 1964 Grapevine

NORTON MOCKRIDGE reports in the N. Y. World-Telegram & Sun that a friend of his, plagued by night-raiding raccoons, set out on the porch a dish of 100-proof juice and the animals got so blotto that they upset all the garbage cans in the neighborhood. Next night the raccoons drank a triple dose and passed out cold. The householder then decided that ice cream might be better, and for some time thereafter it had all disappeared by morning. One night, though, he heard an unusual noise on the porch and, snapping on the light, he saw three of the neighbors' small children on the porch each armed with a spoon.
