Cap and gown were turning into cap and bells until this professor turned himself in to AA

AS AL SMITH said, "Let's look at the record." I had a Ph.D. six days after my thirtieth birthday; I was an associate professor at one of the largest and best-known universities in the world well before I was thirty-five. By the time I was thirty-seven, I had published a couple of books, written articles for encyclopedias, and delivered lectures to learned societies, sharing the platform with speakers nearly twice my age who are legends in my field.
