Nearly eleven years have come and gone since I became a member in good standing of the AA Fellowship. In these years of practicing the spiritual principles of the Twelve Steps daily to the best of my meager ability, I have discovered that, from my earliest memory, I have had good intentions--but was powerless to carry them out until I surrendered my life and will to God and became dependent upon His Higher Power, rather than any worldly power ever created by the human mind.
