Mouthwash, it seems, would be more appropriately kept in a bar than in the medicine chest. Dr. Sidney H. Schnoll, professor of pharmacology in psychiatry, University of Pennsylvania, and medical director of HELP, [said,] "A great many mouthwashes contain huge quantities of alcohol--14 to 35% in many cases. And if you translate this to 'proof,' that's 28 to 70 proof--far larger than you'd find in an average wine, and sometimes as much as in a blended whiskey."
