WE HEARD ABOUT two other gentlemen, somewhat older, who were seated in a saloon, bathing their gums with alcohol. One of them was regaling his companion with his sad history. "I was married twice," he began. "My first wife died from eating poisoned mushrooms, my second from a fractured skull."
