I have seen what alcohol does to a family, how it tears apart the parents and makes them go at each other's throats. And I have seen what alcohol does to the children in the family, how it turns them against the parent, how it shreds their emotions to nothing. And I have seen what alcohol does to love between mother and son, how it makes the mother say, "I don't care. I just want my bottle." And I have seen what alcohol does to the alcoholics, how it makes them something they never wanted to be, how it makes their children quiver at the sight of them.
