About a year and a half ago, I went to a doctor to be treated for several broken ribs. He dismissed the ribs as unimportant, but told me that I had the most enlarged liver he had ever seen and that if I continued to drink, I wouldn't last a year. He sent me to another doctor, a member of AA, who took me to a local group meeting.
