After having been in the program a short nine months, I had the opportunity of traveling from the West Coast to rural northern New York for a job interview. This would mark the first time I had flown in an airplane without drinking, my first job interview since sobering up, and the first time I had been away from the West Coast since I was a child. This was all compounded by the fact that the nearest airport was some eighty miles from the interview, with practically no public transportation in between. I was very hard put to figure out a way to make connections.
