Are We Ever Home Safe?

ONE DAY next month, God willing, I'll complete thirteen years of AA sobriety. Had it not been for events of the past 24 hours, the presentation of an anniversary cake by our group secretary and my ensuing acceptance speech would follow the pattern set in the past few years.
