MY DRINKING was a pioneer protest against unequal opportunity. I was a militant long before the first bra got burned. I was an early casualty of male chauvinism. After all, I had a gifted and educated mind. That was apparent to anyone watching me glue macaroni on tin cans in my favorite nut ward. It was discrimination in the job market that prevented me from realizing my potential.
