Looking for the Positive Side

Around the Tables

AROUND THE TABLES, there are those who, for some strange reason, not only don't count their chickens before they hatch, but refuse to count them after they have hatched. It is absurd to talk about all the negative aspects of one's life when, for perhaps the first time in many years, the speaker is clean, wears holeless shoes, matching socks, and a shirt and a coat, has a car, has money in his pocket and in the bank, and is not currently in jail or a mental institution.
