A loser learns to win
The first time in AA, I was only twenty-seven and AA was only twelve years old. I managed three years of sobriety. The second attempt was in 1955, while I was in prison, and I managed eleven years, six after my release in 1959. The third attempt was when I was told I was classed as a terminal cancer case. Another one-day stand, and I volunteered to enter a monastery, to become a religious brother.
