EVERYONE HAS SOMETHING to be grateful about, according to Now and Then--even the little old lady tourist in this tale. She had stopped to make a phone call at a madhouse in Michigan on the clay before the opening of deer-hunting season. The place was thronged with boisterous, red-clad sportsmen, drinking themselves into the proper mood for the day ahead.
