An Antidote to Jealousy
THE RANDOM HOUSE English Dictionary defines jealousy as a state of being "resentful and envious, as of someone's attainments or advantages, fearful of losing another's affection, troubled by fears of rivalry." Note the recurrence of the "tear'' theme. The Oxford Unabridged Dictionary says much the same, but adds some alternatives: "zealous, eager to serve" and "angry at the thought of someone else's getting what you want." So there are fear and anger mixed up in the immaturity of jealousy, and we must seek antidotes in order to he the people we were meant to be.
