Promise of Joy

AROUND THE TABLES, for all to see, there are abundant expressions of joy demonstrating the working of God's will through AA. In the desolate horror of my final years of active alcoholism, and in the discomfort of the early months in AA, I could never have imagined the incomparable beauty of life that would appear when I attempted to lend my will to even a nebulous concept of God's will for me. Time and time again, I rejoice in the growth of other shattered people as they come, devastated by alcohol, and are slowly (or sometimes quickly) transformed into the persons they were always meant to be.
