Cop-out

His failure to accept love, happiness, and success hid this alcoholic's fear of responsibility

NEARLY SIXTEEN years ago, I suffered a brain injury that knocked out my memory for several years. This was really bankruptcy for a person who had as many degrees and had studied and taught at as many colleges as I had. From that time on, my drinking got completely out of control, and I spent much of the next ten years in mental hospitals and under psychiatric treatment.
