Those of us who feel we have a solid thing going with our Higher Power--who know He has removed the compulsion--who breathe gratitude to Him for sobriety dozens of times a day--don't always feel His presence totally surrounding us. There are times when it seems that He absents Himself purposely because our homework (meditation and prayer) is not being done on schedule. There are times when, after thirty concentrated minutes of meditation, there is still no soft tugging at the heartstrings, saying, "This is the path you should take today."
