No Longer A Phony

TWO WORDS kept jumping out at me every time I read Chapter Five in the Big Book: "rigorous honesty." I could understand what was meant by the simple fact that to succeed in this program, an individual must be honest with himself. But why this "rigorous" business thrown in? As a matter of fact, honesty is referred to three times on the first page of Chapter Five.
