To celebrate or not to celebrate?

At my group, it is customary to celebrate each anniversary with a cake, selected speakers, and a talk given by the celebrants. As I approached my first year of daily sobriety, I balked. I had become aware that I was afraid of successes. To celebrate meant to reach a goal, and this could mean that I had to lose, that I could not remain a winner.
