Action Is Service

He served alone for eleven weeks and on the twelfth a new group was born

I PLEAD GUILTY to never looking much beyond my own AA group or AA activities within the city where I lived. Oh, I took my turn at various jobs--being intergroup representative, fielding phone calls on nights weekends when our downtown office was closed, getting in touch with other members on the list of volunteers who would make Twelfth Step calls. I was on the list myself, was always available as a speaker when high schools, universities, Rotary Clubs, or church groups wanted a member of AA to talk on AA. I led Step meetings and did all the rest of the things a person will do who is thankful to AA and wishes to be of service.
