More than meetings

G. M.'s article, "Energy Crisis," in the June 1977 Grapevine expresses my sentiments and conception of what the AA program is all about. "Does our sobriety depend solely upon the excitement of being in a crowd. . .at a meeting?" At first, it did for me. The companionship, concern, and love of the AA people were the mainstays in helping me realize that the exchange of a chemical for people was the best thing that ever happened to me. Yes, I did need those ninety meetings in ninety days, and for even longer, in order to get my head screwed on.
