I recently passed my first year of sobriety. I am nineteen years old, and I work for a living. About a week or so before my AA birthday, I acquired a new sponsor. I felt that I needed a kick in the rear and got a man who I thought could do it. Well, I was right. Not too long after I asked him to be my sponsor, he asked me if I prayed. I said, "Not too much," which was a lie. I never prayed. He told me to go home and pray that night and not to get off my knees until I got an answer.
