DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE, a certain lush had banged up his car on a number of occasions. Telling the truth to his insurance agent about his mishaps would have caused his policy to be canceled, so he invented some wild tales to account for them--such as swerving to avoid a swarm of bees or being startled by a jackrabbit leaping through his open window. The agent knew he was being conned but had to accept it.
