Sense and nonsense on the road to recovery

THAT SAME FELLOW had an ailing wife who had been confined to a nursing home for several months. Her health wasn't improving, so he bought a Jersey cow for its rich milk and brought a quart to his wife on each of his visits. Hoping to improve her appetite, he added a liberal dash of Irish whiskey to each bottle of milk but kept that a secret, since she was a member of a temperance society.
