Once Over Lightly

Sense and nonsense on the road to recovery

JUST AS THAT SON OF ERIN was deceitful for a good purpose, so was a certain stewardess toward the end of a flight from Los Angeles to New York. All during the trip, she had been pestered by two male passengers with lust in their hearts and too much booze in their veins. One of them, toward the front of the plane, had been coaxing her to visit him that evening at his Manhattan apartment. The other, seated farther back, kept begging to see her that night at her own place in New York.
