Youth Enjoying Sobriety

MY FIRST two years in AA were among the most exciting of my life. I was more than middle-aged, like most of my fellow members, and I was very sick and did not know it. I went to many meetings. I always thought I was "not as bad as that"--"that" being anyone whose experience differed from my own. I have since found that most of us used a conveniently adaptable yardstick.
