Recurring Depressions

With sobriety and hard work it's possible to cope

I HAVE BEEN sober in AA for many years, but I've had a terrible time with mood swings, mostly into depression. Today, as I write this, I am neither in a depression nor flying too high. This is thanks to quite a few people and, of course, to the AA program and my ability to use this program in a better way. I have two wonderful sponsors, and sometimes, I know, I've leaned on them like a baby elephant. I have good friends, both in and out of AA, who have stood by while I complained about the same things over and over. There is no one as boring as someone in a bad depression. I have gone to a number of psychiatrists, and I am still going to one. This support seems to be a must for me at the present time, because of the length and severity of my depressions.
