Who Puts It All Together?
Each of us, in our own way, can make a contribution to our general welfare
I DON'T KNOW who first said to me, "Do something! Pick up the ashtrays." It seemed to me that one AA thought I might have something to contribute to the group--when I thought I had nothing. Maybe he (whoever he was) thought that if I acquired the habit of sticking my hand out, other things might also happen to me. My hand always had been used for taking from others. Now it could become a tool for giving.
