Coming Out of Our Shells

We need to shed our old selves to make room for the new

WHEN I WAS a child, my family lived on an island off the coast of Maine. My father was a lobster fisherman. While meditating recently, my mind wandered back to those days when I went out with my father while he hauled his traps. I recall his showing me a lobster one day that was in the process of shedding.
