Not Taking the First Drink

AROUND THE TABLES, I quite often state that God's will for me is simply not to take the first drink. This is usually a comment related to the Eleventh Step. I have been told that this is too simple, a cop-out, and several other things. I realize that it is simple, and for me, who suffered (suffer) distorted thinking as a by-product of my alcoholism, simplicity is a necessity.
