SO MANY things ganged up on me back in February that I began to skip my AA meetings. My husband, now retired, had gotten a longing for something other than snow. His solution was to pay his sister a visit in sunny Florida. The invitation would have covered me, too, but I was in the middle of accomplishing a long put-off goal: a college degree. So, while he was getting brown and healthy, I was getting my eyelashes covered with philosophy, psychology, and history.
