AND ON THE SUBJECT of cars: a middle-aged, half-drunk man halted his Chevy at a downtown intersection where some people were waiting for a bus. One was an attractive young woman, and the lush called out to her, "I'd drive you home, honey. . .but I can't remember where I live."
