Since I've been sober, I have washed enough dishes to set a table for every AA member from coast to coast, filled enough salt shakers to drain Great Salt Lake, worn out lots of shoe leather running between the kitchen and the tables as a waiter, doubled as a cashier and host, and paid my dues as a bartender and late-night cook. I was no longer "just a waiter," but the best waiter in all of southern Florida.
