Speak Up

It takes only a few worried words to bring forth a deluge of helpful suggestions

WITH TWENTY months of sobriety in the AA Fellowship, I had never volunteered a topic for discussion or even hinted that I had any problem in working my program. And then, at a recent Sunday-morning meeting, the impulse struck with powerful force. When the chairman asked if anyone had a topic or problem he or she would like to have discussed, I could hear my voice saying, "Yes, For the past few weeks, I've had an overpowering compulsion to drink."! added a few more of ray worries: suffering a severe emotional loss, which resulted in a deep depression; losing what conscious contact I had previously had with God; and never having gained the true spiritual aspect of the AA program.
