What a good issue the October Grapevine is! I would like to put in a word of praise and support for the article "About Holding Hands." I dislike the practice intensely and know that many of my friends do also. In fact, I know one man who quit coming to meetings because of it. I didn't want to go that far--it would be like "burning up your blanket to get rid of a flea." I haven't even learned to decline; I just give in and hold hands. But I learned long ago to feel a deep love for, and at-one-ness with, my fellow members, and I don't feel the need of holding hands to enhance my feelings of gratitude.
