Making Amends

Clear away the wreckage of the past and begin to build more comfortable todays

THE ALARM clock would blast me awake at 5:30 AM. I'd lurch out of bed, shave, and get dressed, and by six I'd be in my car, driving from my home in Joliet to downtown Chicago to see my psychiatrist. For a solid year, I made the seventy-mile round trip twice a week.
