A few days ago, I celebrated twenty months of sobriety in this program, and twelve months of serenity in this prison. If the number of months sounds strange, it's because God led me to the Fellowship while I was free on bond for the offense that I am presently incarcerated for. When I was almost eight months sober, the judge reminded me that I am responsible. I learned that sobriety does not automatically erase the damage I did when I was drinking, and that being willing to go to any length means just that.
