Dependence

WHEN I BEGAN my AA life, I, was dependent on many people, places, and things and on sick attitudes and feelings. Until AA, these had caused dependence on alcohol for escape. Dependence on prescription drugs, and my abuse of them, came quite naturally to me in my illness. The night before I came to AA, I had only one thought: I had to finally get out of the dark pit of drinking around the clock, and maybe then there would be a way for me to be happy.
