Once Over Lightly

Sense and nonsense on the road to recovery

G. C. OF WASHINGTON claims many people act oddly in emergencies and tells about four chaps who were boozing and fishing in a rubber raft on a large lake, far from shore. Suddenly, a big rip opened on one side of the raft, and the two fellows sitting there started to bail furiously. In spite of that, the water inside began to rise, and one of the men on the other side of the raft asked, "Should we help them bail?"
