Sense and nonsense on the road to recovery

THAT MAKES SENSE, at least as much as was used by a member of the Pro Golf Tour in a story from the Silver Dollar. The golfer in question had been bothered one day by a lush with the hiccups who was in the group following him. On several occasions, the spectator had hiccuped just as the player was making a shot, causing him to blow it. At the eighteenth green, the pro had a crucial putt that meant thousands in prize money. He lined it up, tapped the ball, and missed the cup by inches. "You and your damn hiccups!" he snarled at the boozer.
