Positive Negatives

SINCE COMING into the program over seven years ago, I have been repeatedly overwhelmed, amazed, and made profoundly grateful by the blessed gift of sobriety. Just to get up in the morning fresh with delight, "newborn," with a clear head, mercifully free of guilt and anxiety (not to mention nausea and shakes)! To be unafraid to answer the phone! To walk the streets and shop the stores of my small town without apprehension. To remember where I've been and what I've done, and to remember without stomach-plummeting shame and humiliation.
