One great fact has saved my life several times: In AA, I have a home and friends with whom I can share my feelings and thoughts. And it doesn't matter if I am "right on" or "all messed up;" people will listen. That listening is an important part of the AA program to me. I have learned much that way, and many times I have been in need of a person or group to listen to me. At home, it is sometimes far too easy to tune the wife and kids out in favor of a TV show or even my own thoughts.
