The Traditions are internal

We have many traditions that have been passed down to us. One example is our Thanksgiving holiday. On the first Thanksgiving Day, the belief was that God had favored the Pilgrims with a safe arrival at a new land, where they would find freedom; the practice among the Pilgrims was to acknowledge that belief to God and one another; and the attitude was one of humility and thankfulness. The food served was only an external symbol.
